Lunch is provided every day by Butter Beans Kitchens. All lunches are nut-free, 75% organic, and offer a wide range of menu options that can accommodate dietary requirements. Meals may include chicken tenders, grilled chicken burgers, a variety of sandwiches, pasta, cheese quesadillas, macaroni & cheese, tacos, hot dogs and pizza. Campers also have access to a fruit salad bar.
Our menu aligns with our Weekly Themes, meaning special items such as rainbow bagels, popping candy jello animal-shaped chicken/veggie nuggets, and cupcake pizzas. Click below for Camp Butterbeans sample lunch menu.
At Dwight Summer Camp, every week is bursting with fun and flavor! Start your Mondays off right with Ice-Cream Sundae Day, where campers can create their own frosty masterpiece from a selection of custom toppings — think sprinkles, sauces, and sweet surprises!
New this year, an event that used to only happen on the last week of camp is now happening midweek: our Pizza Party, a camper favorite that’s the perfect way to celebrate new friendships and summer adventures.
And just when you think it can’t get any better, Cookie Fridays bring warm, freshly baked cookies to wrap up the week on a sweet and delicious note!
During field trips, lunch is still provided! Whenever possible, we use the catering services of the field trip destination to ensure campers enjoy a tasty, hot meal. If the facility does not offer catering, campers receive a bagged lunch containing a sandwich, a packet of chips, a fruit cup, crudités, a cookie, and a juice box.
Dwight Summer Camp strives to be a nut-free, sesame-free, and shellfish-free facility and can support most special diets and food allergies. For the protection of our campers with severe nut allergies, we consider ourselves a “nut-aware” camp. We make every effort to eliminate peanut, tree nut (walnut, pecan), and any nut-based products and to raise awareness about food allergies.
We have instituted procedures for anaphylactic emergencies and have staff on location who are trained in administering epinephrine. Our food service does not serve peanut butter, sesame, shellfish, or nuts of any kind during lunch, snack times, or camp events and activities. We ask that parents and caregivers refrain from sending foods containing the above-mentioned products to camp as birthday treats or snacks.
We ask that campers, parents, caregivers, and staff who may have eaten peanut, tree nut, or other nut-based foods thoroughly wash their hands before entering the camp building.
Families of children with food allergies must work closely and cooperatively with our Camp Nurse, Camp Director, and Head Counselors to ensure a safe environment for your child at camp. It is essential that families of campers with food allergies keep the Camp Nurse informed of your child’s allergies by the first day of camp and notify us of any changes that may occur during the camp.
You must complete the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan and provide the camper with their medication (antihistamines, EpiPen) in its original pharmacy-labeled container with specific doctor’s orders. The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan form can be requested from the Camp Director’s Office.
We encourage families to teach their children not to share foods or utensils and to practice thorough hand washing. While we take extensive precautions, due to the number of people entering the camp building each day, we cannot guarantee that our camp is completely nut-free.
We appreciate the efforts of every member of our community to protect the health of all our campers.
